It was known to many that before it became General Santos City, it was called Dadiangas. However it was not known to many that before it was called Dadiangas by the Maguindanaoans it was called Amgangeh by the Blaans, the original occupants of the land. The 1st Blaan Day is a good venue to reclaim our share in the General Santos history. The dying Amgangeh tree in front of the City Hall is a concrete proof of this dying history.
