The Philippine Blaan Academy  aims to be a lifelong  learning   boarding institution that  provides  quality secondary education for  bright and emerging indigenous Blaan youth leaders of Mindanao.  The core of its education curriculum   will be anchored on the K-12 curriculum but with additional courses on Self-Awareness, Blaan Studies,  Cultural  Development, Community Building, Leadership, Environmental Mindfulness and Sustainability.

The school is  also dedicated to produce generations of green  leaders  and to help reduce the carbon footprints of the world by  adopting an ecologically-sustainable architecture and by maintaining an ethnobotanical garden  devoted to the collection, cultivation and display of wide range of endemic plants in the country with high emphasis on the preservation of the indigenous species in the region. Moreover, the school  wants to serve as a learning hub for cultural,  economic and social advancement of the entire community.

KafyeBlaan Empowerment Inc,  is   the non-profit, non-stock corporation taking lead in this project .  Its Board of Trustees are all young Blaan leaders whose willpower and hopes are driven by the fact that they believe that building an institution is the most comprehensive and sustainable strategy to ensure that  their future generations are educated and empowered yet are still deeply-rooted with their  rich indigenous tradition making the Blaan culture thrive in this fast changing era.

KafyeBlaan is grateful  to the  heirs of  Datu Fulung Bahal Tolentino, all  Blaan natives of Mindanao for donating a 10-hectare land located in Bantak Hills, Brgy. Nagpan, Malungon, Sarangani Province as a leverage to this project.

This briefer seeks for seed investment  from organizations and individuals who  want to be the KafyeBlaan’s partner in building ecologically-sustainable learning facilities and in building the  futures of the indigenous youth.
